Machu Picchu, an archaeological gem nestled in the Andes, has implemented new regulations to enhance visitors' experiences. Here, we present key rules and items to refrain from bringing during your visit.

Entry Regulations and Visit Duration: To ensure order and conservation, specific entry times are assigned, with a maximum visit duration of 4 hours. Visitors can choose from 9 time slots, ranging from 6 am to 2 pm.

Circuit Choices: Three different circuits, coordinated by guides, are offered. Circuit 1 is the classic and more demanding route, while Circuit 2 is shorter and more accessible. Circuit 3 is exclusively designed for seniors or those with disabilities.

Entry Conditions: Strict prohibitions have been established to preserve the site's integrity. Among the items you cannot bring are:

  1. Backpacks or bags exceeding specified dimensions, to be left in the cloakroom.
  2. Food and utensils.
  3. Illegal substances, alcoholic beverages, and aerosols.
  4. Umbrellas (use of hats, caps, and raincoats is allowed).
  5. Tripods, camera supports, or extensions.
  6. Animals, except guide dogs.
  7. Musical instruments, megaphones, and speakers.
  8. Baby strollers (access allowed only with backpack carriers without metal frames).
  9. High-heeled or hard-soled shoes (only sports shoes allowed).
  10. Sharp objects and/or weapons.
  11. Walking sticks with metal tips.
  12. Clothing for advertising purposes.
  13. Activities causing disorder or site deterioration.
  14. Smoking or vaping.
  15. Non-compliance with established circuits.
  16. Feeding animals.
  17. Paragliding, drone flights, or any type of smaller aircraft.
  18. Filming or photographing for advertising purposes or in high-risk areas.
  19. Illegal entry through prohibited routes.
  20. Disposable plastic bottles.
